Betty Mooney

Hastings resident, Betty A. Mooney, 84, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Friday, May 27, 2011; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 28, 2011; 9:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2011; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. and Friday, May 27, 2011; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home; also 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools.

Betty was born February 27, 1927 in Holstein, Nebraska to John C. & Ann M. (Kaiser) Hemberger. She married Thomas H. Mooney on September 26, 1949; he preceded her in death on November 3, 1998. She worked for Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph Company as an operator and cable assigner before her retirement. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Mooney; three sisters; and six brothers.
