Hastings Resident, Betty Ann (Rutledge) (Leadabrand) Banks passed away on December 1, 2025 at Heritage at College View in Hastings, NE.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Heritage at College View chapel with Pastor Damen Jensen-Heitmann officiating. A second service will be held in the spring with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Campbell Fire Department. Betty was born on May 29, 1934, to Dewey and Nettie Rutledge in Red Cloud, Nebraska. On January 2, 1949, she married Raymond Leadabrand. To this union five children were born, Virginia, Philip, Kenneth, Carol, and Roger. Betty attended Red Cloud schools and was a homemaker, mom and wonderful grandma! Raymond and Betty lived in Bird City, Kansas. They later farmed in the Inavale area north of Smith Center. In 1968 they purchased the Campbell Hardware store and Betty helped work there until they sold the store in 1972. Betty was head cook at the Campbell school for two years and wallpapered, painted and cleaned for many friends and family. Betty was a member of the Campbell Junior Women’s Club and the “Original Betty Club”. Raymond and Betty were loving parents who always put their family first.

On March 2, 1996, Betty married Robert “Bob” Banks. During their nearly 30 years together the couple enjoyed travel to the Panama Canal, New York City, Florida, California and many places in between with Netty's siblings. They continued to live in Campbell until moving to Heritage at College View in Hastings in 2024.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Lloyd Mullen; husband, Raymond Leadabrand; sons, Philip, Kenneth and Roger; grandson, Justin Kumke; brother, Ashley (Joyce) Rutledge; sisters, Phyllis (Carl) Stokes, and Peggy (Alfred) Liesec; in-laws, Duane Eldred, Bill Mountford, and Marvin (Francis) Leadabrand; brother-in-law, Don Banks; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis (John) Kroese, Sharol (Jerry) Mousel.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Banks; daughters, Virginia Heinrich & Carol Kumke; daughter in-law, Lorraine Leadabrand; step-daughters, Penny (Mike) Sander, Bobbi Jo (Tom) Pieper; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ralph) Williams, Micheal (Kathy) Leadabrand, Jared (Jenny) Koch, Jessica Kumke, James (Jennifer) Kumke, Timothy (Dustie) Leadabrand, and Allison Leadabrand; step-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily Sander; sisters, Louise Mountford and Gaylene (John) Adler; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Donna Leadabrand, CB (Barb) Banks. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Garrett (April) Williams, Kevin (Jada) Williams, Ashley (Jared) Ward, Kaitlyn (Isaiah) Bryner, Evan Koch, Barrett Kumke, Emerson Kumke, and Autumn Leadabrand; and great-great grandchildren, Jaycee, Holland, Paityn and Newt Williams, and Cohen Williams.
