Betty Whipple

Hastings resident Betty “June” Whipple, 93, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

June's wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established later.

June was born June 26, 1925, in Pauline, NE to Onno & Beulah Valentine. She married Ernest Whipple on June 26, 1948; he preceded her in death on January 15, 2016. June worked at Allen’s in Hastings; sold Avon for many years and operated the Valentine Motel in Grand Island, NE before moving back to Hastings. June loved her family, she loved animals especially boxers and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan.

June was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Whipple; three sons, Kenny & Denny Berding and Ted Whipple; and sister, Wanda Valentine.
