Hastings resident Beverly Ann Dack, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Mary Lanning Healthcare.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips and Larry Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service, with the family present. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Beverly was born April 18, 1941, in Hastings, to John Leroy & Helen Jane (George) Hoggatt. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1959. She married Marvin Vern Dack on June 14, 1959. They had 2 children, Donna in July of 1960 and Randy in October of 1961. They separated in December of 1961 and then divorced. Beverly became a telephone operator for LT&T in October of 1962. She retired in April of 1991 to care for her mom and sister. She became a member of the First Baptist Church in Hastings in 1951. She was a member of the Ringy Dingy Bowling team in the 70’s, Church Women United, and the Red Hats Society. She helped to start the Special Scoops Ice Cream Parlor in Hastings. She blessed so many with her cake decorating expertise and worked part-time at Russ’s bakery as a cake decorator after her retirement.
Bev was a caretaker her entire life, caring for her parents and sister, her 2 kids, family, and friends. After her mom passed in 2002, she helped her daughter and son-in-law take care of her great-grandson from his age of 9 months till he was in 1st grade. She would take friends who could no longer drive to all sorts of appointments and events. Her family was her greatest pride.
