Bonnie was born on December 2, 1947, in Grand Island, NE, to Frank and Eva “Jeane” (Cooley) Thiel. During her junior high years, she met Franklin Dee LeFevre, and they became high school sweethearts. The couple married on May 28, 1965, and eventually settled in Roseland, NE, where they raised their four children. Franklin Dee preceded her in death on August 26, 1994.
Early in her life, Bonnie worked at Hastings Pork and later at Mid-Nebraska, where she dedicated herself to helping individuals with developmental disabilities, teaching them essential life skills. Her work at Hastings Pork and Mid-Nebraska not only allowed her to make a positive difference but also led to the formation of many lifelong friendships, which she cherished until her passing.
In her later years, Bonnie found great comfort and companionship in her dog, Daisy, who brought her joy and kept her company. She was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan who proudly supported her team through every season. Whether watching games from the comfort of her home with Daisy or cheering alongside her grandsons, Bonnie’s enthusiasm for Husker football and volleyball was unwavering.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jeane Thiel; her husband, Franklin Dee LeFevre; her sons, Scott LeFevre and Steven LeFevre; her siblings, Karl Thiel, Bill Thiel, Jerry Thiel, Fanny Klein, and Edward Thiel; as well as her father-in-law, Frank LeFevre; mother-in-law, Alice Wilkins; sister-in-law, Sherry Payne; and brother-in-law, Bill LeFevre.
She is survived by her daughters, Deanna LeFevre and Shannon Karmazin (and Scott Premer); grandchildren and spouses, Corey & Ashtyn Lammers, Karah Garrison, Casey & Jana Lammers, and Tyler & Andrea McKimmey; and her beloved great-grandchildren.
Bonnie is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: DeeAnn & Ron Krysl, Terry & Jim Nabower, Cheryl Turner, Jim Thiel, Michael Thiel, Daniel & Monica Thiel, June Stark, and Jane Brennfoerder.
Bonnie’s kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.
