Hastings resident Bradley Ray Schmidt, 62, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, at Bryan West Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. January 7, 2026, at Butler Volland Funeral Home Chapel in Hastings with Minister Paul Julian officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Grand Island, NE. A book signing will be 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family. Bradley was born November 18, 1963, in Hastings, NE, to Robert F. Schmidt and Patricia A. (Johnson) Schmidt. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1982. Bradley married the love of his life, Joyce, on April 19, 1986. To this union, 1 son was born, Michael Schmidt.
Bradley was a member of the Boy Scouts, the Eagles Club, and various pool leagues. He was a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Huskers, Dallas Cowboys, and the Chicago Cubs. He was the produce manager for years at B&R and Allen’s grocery stores.
Bradley was preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant children, Mitchell Dean and McKayla Deann.

He is survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
