Burdell S Gerlach

Hastings resident Burdell S. Gerlach, 62, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Mary Lanning Healthcare.

Services will be held at Butler Volland Chapel on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. with Christina Burchess officiating. Burial will be at Blue Valley Cemetery in Ayr, NE at a later date. Burdell was born on June 18, 1963, in Hastings, NE, to Ernest and Gloria (Lindeman) Gerlach. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School. He worked locally for many years at Russ's IGA in the bakery and was a very well-regarded employee. He will be missed by those who knew him.

Burdell was preceded in death by both parents and both sets of grandparents.

Survivors include three sisters, one brother, four nieces and one nephew.
