Caitlyn Ray Schumm

Former Hastings resident Caitlyn Ray Schumm, 26, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at her home.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Book signing will be from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. with family present on Tuesday, March 24 at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Caitlyn’s family. Caitlyn was born August 18, 1999, to Dale Schumm & Stacy Welch in Hastings, Nebraska. She attended Zion Lutheran School in Hastings for her elementary years until 2009. She attended Sandy Creek School from 2009 to 2017. She graduated from Hastings High School in 2018. Caitlyn and Felipe Diaz met in 2015. Later Amelia Rose was born in 2018, Lilliana Loren was born in 2022, and Naomi Marie was born in 2024. Caitlyn worked at Clover Lodge Nursing Home in St. Edward’s, Nebraska.

Caitlyn enjoyed playing and spending time with her children. She enjoyed the lakes and camping. Going on walks exploring with her girls. She liked online gaming with her friends. She had a deep love for tattoos; she would get more any chance she had. She completed getting licensed & certified in microblading to start her own business. She enjoyed working part time at Fonner Park in Grand Island during the horse races. Caitlyn had an energetic love her family and friends.

Caitlyn was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lorand Welch; grandfather, William Schumm; grandmother, Frances Schumm; uncle, Glen Schumm; and uncle, Larry Hanson.
