Carl Edward Bauman Jr.

Hastings resident Carl Edward Bauman Jr., 69, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer.

Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 27, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Herb Scott officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. A book signing will be 1–4 p.m. Thursday, October 26, and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Start Over Rover. Carl was born May 25, 1954, in Hastings, NE to Carl E. Sr. and Donna (Johnson) Bauman. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1974. Carl married Vonna Rucker on April 11, 1981.

Carl worked for the City of Hastings Parks and Recreation Department as a ground maintenance worker for over 40 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Carl enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, working in his yard, watching Western shows and had a great love for animals.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl E. Sr. and Donna Bauman; sister, Kathy Bauman; brother, Jimmy Bauman, and mother-in-law, Shirley Rucker.
