Trumbull resident, Charles Kuhlman, 88, went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2016.

Rosary will be Sunday, June 5, 2016; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, 1225 North Elm Avenue, Hastings, Nebraska 68901. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, June 6, 2016; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 301 West 7th Street, Hastings, Nebraska 68901 with Father Adam M. Sughroue and Father Charles Mazouch officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, 3 miles West of Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust and Trumbull Community Center. Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2016; 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Sunday, June 5, 2016; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.

Charles was born in Olmitz, Kansas to Rudolph and Angela Kuhlman in 1927. Charles attended St. Joseph's Military Academy, and graduated from St. Ann's High School at Olmitz, Kansas. Charles and Catherine (Finger) were married in 1950. Charles farmed in Lane County, Kansas for several years before his employment at the Trumbull Harmon Grain Storage as Assistant Manager from 1958-1981. He then worked at the Trumbull Coop from 1981-1990 as the Credit Manager. Charles joined the Knights of Columbus in 1946 and was a member of Pius XII 3rd Degree Council 1123 and Pius XII 4th Degree Assembly 608, both of Hastings. Charles was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church since 1965. The Knights of Columbus awarded the Charles Kuhlman family in 1999 "Family of the Year" for the State of Nebraska.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (one died in infancy) and one sister.

Left to carry on his legacy and memories are his wife, Catherine, six children, 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one brother, Don Kuhlman.

The luncheon will immediately follow the Mass. The procession to the cemetery will leave the church at 1:00 P.M. to go to the cemetery. Anyone that wishes to go to the cemetery will need to be in their cars and lined up before 1:00 P.M. Due to 12:10 P.M. Mass, please park in the parking lot South of the gym.
