Clarence E. Stamer, 81, of rural Glenvil, Nebraska died Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion Hastings, Nebraska. Services will be Wednesday, November 22, 2006; 10:30 A. M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church west of Glenvil. Pastor Larry Handeland will officiate with burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, west of Glenvil. Visitation will be Monday 1PM-9PM, Tuesday 9AM-9PM at Butler-Volland Funeral Home and Wednesday 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church west of Glenvil.
Mr. Stamer was born August 31, 1925 in Adams County to Anton & Frances (Goldenstein) Stamer. He graduated from Glenvil High School in 1943. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1944-1946 in the Pacific Ocean area. After returning from the service he became a farmer and ran a dairy farm. On January 1, 1953, he married Betty Jean Scholtz at the First United Methodist church in Hastings, Nebraska. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church west of Glenvil serving on the Church Council and the committee for the new building dedicated in 1961. He was a member of American Legion Post #26 in Glenvil and was on the board of directors of Hastings Production Credit Association for seventeen years. He also served on the school board of Hanover District #75.
Mr. Stamer was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Frieda Van Boening and Bernice Jensen.
