Clayton R. Miller

Juniata resident Clayton R. Miller, 82, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at his home.    

 

A Celebration of Life is tentatively planned for April 13, 2024. A private family burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hastings. Donations may be given in Clayton’s name to the Heartland Pet Connection or the Future Farmers of America high school programs of Adams Central High School and Frankfort Kansas High School. 

 

Clayton was born February 14, 1941, in Frankfort, KS to Albert W. and Caroline (Sabin) Miller. He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1959. Clayton married Connie McAtee in June 1963. Two daughters, Shelley Dillon (1964) and Jill Miller Simmaly (1972), were born to Clayton and Connie. Clayton married Mary Sue Turley Dilly on May 5, 1990, in Reno, NV. 

 

Clayton worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a signal specialist. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Farmall Tractor Collectors Association, Four Rivers Sportsman’s Club, and the Marysville Historical Society. Clayton enjoyed spending his time doing metal work, camping, hunting, anything outdoors, and having a beverage with his friends. Clayton was still working part-time for Borer Manufacturing up to the day of his death.  

 

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
