Glenvil, resident Dale D. Hinrichs, 93, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare.

As per Dale’s wishes, there will be a graveside burial of his ashes at a later date, with Pastor Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Memorials may be given to the Glenvil Immanuel Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.

Dale was born May 20, 1932, to Reemt and Lena (Rothfuss) Hinrichs and grew up on a farm south of Glenvil. He graduated from Glenvil High School and worked in the area for a few years before marrying the love of his life – Lois (Phipps) Hinrichs on December 30, 1952. (He passed away on what would have been their 73rd Anniversary.) He left for the Army a few days later, where Lois followed him to El Paso, Texas, and then to Fort Stewart Georgia. He served as the personal mail carrier to the Commander of the base, which meant he had the highest security clearance on the base. After his discharge, he returned to the Glenvil area to farm for the rest of his life. He was a member of the Glenvil American Legion, also serving as the Commander for several years. He and Lois enjoyed many years of dancing and socializing at the Legion’s many dances. He was a life-long member of the Glenvil Immanuel Church.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, and grandson, Matthew Hinrichs. Brothers and spouses; Martin (Edna), Ervin (Estella), Alvin (Opal), Harvey (Ruth), Dean and Larry. Sister Caroline (Burdette) Schulz.

Left to cherish his memory are:

Sons and spouses Steve and Deb Hinrichs of Fairfield with children: Ryan and Nicole Hinrichs of Fairfield and child Violet: Kailey and Shane Thyne of Gibbon and children: Morgan, Brae, Izzy, and Millie. Rick and Pam Hinrichs of Fairfield with children: Lacy of Lincoln NE: Tawny of Clay Center and children Trestyn and Jaelee; Brady and significant other Kiley of Fairfield, NE. Daughter Jody Kinney of Venice, FL and son Jeremy.

Sister-in-laws: Thelma Hinrichs, Janis Hinrichs, Bobbie Harms, and many relatives and friends.
