David was born July 24, 1950, in Hastings, NE, to Robert and Doris (Hartman) Bruntz. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1968 and married Patty Hermann on September 17, 1971. In 1973, Dave moved his family to Malcolm and worked full-time in the Air National Guard and retired from there in 1991 after 20 years of service to our Country. In his free time you would find him at the lake or perfecting his woodworking skills by making cabinets, furniture, or whatever request he would take from family.
In 1984, his love of the farm brought him back to Hastings when his Dad retired, and he began farming alongside his brother. Dave shared his love and knowledge for this work with his son Danny, who worked beside him until Dave’s passing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved that his children had stayed close so he could have a front seat to watching his grandkids grow. Daved loved Jesus, his family, his home, and ending the day on the back patio with a cold beverage in hand and telling Pat about all the adventures of the day. David will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
David was preceded in death by his parents, brother & sister-in-law, Gary & Beverly (Wright) Bruntz, and sister-in-law, Deb Bruntz.
