David Moore

December 17, 1949 — August 1, 2018

Hastings resident David Harvey Moore, 68, passed away after being recently diagnosed with cancer and was surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

A Celebration of Life is 11 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2018, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Russ Dudrey officiating. Refreshments will be provided immediately following the service. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.

David was born and raised in San Diego, CA, on December 17, 1949. He graduated from Hoover High School and served in the US Army from 1968 to 1970. He was a member of the Axemen Motorcycle Club of San Diego, and later the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA). He was also known as “Farmer”. David used to work at the Naval shipyards on San Diego Bay for many years.

In 2001, David and his wife, Cindy moved to Hastings to be with family. David enjoyed working at the Hastings Walmart 17 years and he’s best known as the “Hardware Guy”.  Always helpful with a smile. He had a great sense of humor. David was active in the Hastings Church of Christ. He loved God, riding and working on his motorcycle, growing a large garden, building crystal radios, but most importantly, David loved his family.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Audrey and siblings, Willard, Charlene, Judy, and Leroy.
