David E. Oltean

 Hastings resident David “Dave” Oltean, 85, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.   

Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, at Butler Volland Chapel with Chaplain Lisa Ewald officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. 

Dave was born December 25, 1938, in Indianapolis, IN to Alec & Mattie (Bolin) Oltean.  He was raised by his mother & stepfather, Charles Rose.  He graduated from Tri-State College.  He was retired from Dana Corporation as an engineer.  He married Brenda Kay Hudson on June 16, 1962.  He served with the National Guard in Advance Indiana.  Dave was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hastings, The Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Rite.  

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; Stepfather, Charles Rose; Parents-in-Law, Vera & William Hudson; Brothers, Charles Oltean and Don Rose; Sister, Donna Rose; and Grandson, Cole Oltean.
