David L Woolen

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of former area resident, David L. Woolen, 53, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Springfield, MO.David was born on January 25th, 1972, to Rodger and Ila Woolen in Lincoln, NE. He later went on to attend school in Newberg, OR. Where he graduated in 1990. He then returned to Nebraska to pursue the country lifestyle that he enjoyed most.Dave found joy in welding, which he did for many years at T-L Irrigation. His hands were rarely still. When he wasn't welding, he could be found tuning engines, talking cars, or cheering at the racetrack. Racing brought him energy and excitement, and he loved every part of that world. After the birth of his children, he passed his love of racing on to his children teaching them the thrill of the track and sharing countless weekends together at races. Some of their best memories were made under bright lights, roaring engines, and their dad’s proud smile.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Krystal Kennard officiating. Burial will be at Harvard Cemetery in Harvard. There will be a private visitation for family. Memorials may be given to the family for the headstone and funeral expenses. David was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Mihm; grandmother, Mildred Miner; grandparents, Doial (Phyllis) Woolen; father, Rodger Woolen,; and granddaughter, Carly JoRae Halbmaier.
