Davond Dennis Chartier

Hastings resident Davond Dennis Chartier, 90, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE. 

There will be no viewing or visitation. 

Davond was born October 29, 1934, in Webster County, NE, to Victor Chartier and Martha (Schenk) Chartier. Davond graduated from trade school and was a Journeyman Carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army from February 20, 1957 to February 13, 1959 and was stationed in Germany. Davond married Linda Bohrer May 15, 1960, and had two children. Davond farmed in the area for many years. 

Davond was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Chartier, Derald Chartier and Dorald Chartier; and sisters, Maxine Wise, Meldene Sund, Jeanne Pitney, and Vicki Akers. 

Davond is survived by his son, Douglas Chartier of Hastings, NE; his daughter, Carrie Chartier of Lincoln, NE; his sisters, Marcelene Chartier of Blue Hill, NE, Vianne Semin of Lincoln, NE, and Marlis Chartier of Lincoln, NE. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
