Delma "Jeanne" Ruxton

Hastings resident Delma “Jeanne” Ruxton, 83, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Azria Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, NE.    

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 30, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Ben Siebert officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Jeanne was born on April 18, 1940, in Hastings, NE to George and Goldae (Klein) Whiting. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1957. Jeanne married Dale Ruxton on May 28, 1960, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hastings; he preceded her in death on October 6, 2002.

Jeanne worked as a telephone operator for LT&T and also worked for Mid-Nebraska Individual Services. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Jeanne enjoyed flowers, reading, making chocolate chip cookies,  and helping with her grandchildren.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Ruxton; brother, Roger Whiting; son-in-law, Ron Weber; and grandson, Matthew Hull.
