Dennis D. Gerloff

Hastings resident Dennis Dean Gerloff, 77, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dennis was born March 22, 1948, in Hastings, NE to Kenneth & Maxine (Manske). He was baptized & confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. Dennis graduated from Roseland High School in 1966 & Central Nebraska Technical College in 1968. Dennis married Janet Jaeger at Grace United Methodist Church on August 27, 1971, & together raised two daughters: Annette & Andrea.

A skilled cabinet maker with a passion for perfection, he owned & operated Gerloff Custom Cabinets for over 20 years. He was a dedicated member of Grace United Methodist Church serving on the board of Trustees for over 40 years. Dennis enjoyed woodworking, model railroading, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 4, at Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings with Pastor Ben Hanne officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, December 4, at Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church.
