Donald Schmidt

Hastings resident Donald L. Schmidt, 85, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, NE.

Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, December 28, at Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, NE. Memorial service is 1 p.m. at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Donald was born September 22, 1934, in Glenvil, NE to George C. & Rose (Gruessing) Schmidt. He grew up on the farm near Glenvil. He married LaVonda Rose on November 28, 1963; they later divorced. Donald was employed as a general laborer at Hastings Irrigation.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, George and Rose Schmidt; son, Daniel; brothers, Benny Schmidt and Robert Schmidt; and sister, LaVada Martin.
