Donald "Don" McCoy

Hastings resident Don McCoy, 83, passed away Sunday, May 5 , 2019, at Providence Place with his family by his side.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 8 ^th , at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Kathy Uldrich officiating . Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Providence Place.

Don was born on February 29, 1936, in Hastings, NE to Glen and Tillie (Jasper) McCoy. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958. Don married Donna Kottwitz on November 22, 1956, in Oakland, CA.

Don worked for 50 years at Hastings Equity Grain Bin, where he was the plant manager. He attended First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Don enjoyed bowling on a league, fishing, camping, fixing things, and spending time with his family.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Shawn Shuck; and brother, Marcel McCoy.
