Hastings resident Doris C. Davis, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, NE.Services will be held in Georgia at a later date.

Doris was born September 17, 1928, in Nashville, Georgia, to Willie and Cora (Jones) Chaney.  Doris worked on the military base at the Navy Exchange for a few years, then she was a stay-at-home wife. Doris enjoyed playing bingo 2 to 3 times a week, and she loved playing Shanghai rummy as often as she could. She was an avid garage sale shopper, along with having her own, she would look for any kind of antiques so she could sell them at her garage sale.

She loved having her family visit and would always give you the biggest, sweetest smile and say hi honey, I’m so glad to see you. She married Fred Davis on June 13, 1956. They bought their forever home in Titusville, Florida, and lived there for 50 years. She sold her house a few years after Fred passed away and moved to Nebraska to live with her sister.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Dorsey and Dalton Chaney, and sisters, Mae Nelle Chaney and Irmie Newman.
