Dorothy Douglas

Hastings resident, Dorothy V. Douglas, 92, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Burial will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018; 10:15 A.M. in the Parkview Cemetery Columbarium, Hastings. Memorial Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Memorials may be given to Dorothy V. Douglas memorial fund. Book signing will be Monday, January 8, 2018; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born October 20, 1925 to Oscar W. & Lena A. (Jameson) Benson on a farm near Upland, Nebraska. She graduated from Upland High School. Dorothy married Harold A. Douglas on October 8, 1944 in Upland, Nebraska; he preceded her in death on April 12, 2016. Dorothy and Harold moved to Hastings from Cedar Rapids, Nebraska in 1954.

Dorothy worked for Mode O'Day in Hastings. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was also involved in various camper clubs including, The Fun Finders and National Campers & RVers.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; son-in-law, Ed Brown; four brothers; and one sister.
