Dorothy E. Larabee

Hastings resident Dorothy Eileene (Echternach) Larabee, 88, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Reverend Damen Jensen-Heitmann officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Dorothy was born on October 13, 1936, in Hastings, NE, to Walter and Esther (Fox) Echternach. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1954. Dorothy married Lloyd Larabee on December 27, 1969, in Hastings, NE.; he preceded her in death on February 5, 1999. Dorothy worked as a receiving room manager at Herberger’s retiring in the late 90’s. Dorothy liked to travel and had been to Alaska twice. She enjoyed baking, gardening and tending to her flowers. Dorothy was very devoted to her family and always made them her first priority.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Lloyd Larabee; brother and sister-in-law Harold & Ramona Echternach; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Lee, Phyllis & Dean Secord, Eileene & Gayle Consbruck; and brother-in-law Hubert Payne.
