Dorothy Lucas

Hastings resident, Dorothy B. Lucas, 95, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, August 21, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel with Rev. John H.G. Curtiss officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. and 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Dorothy was born July 8, 1915 in Campbell, Nebraska to John & Bertha (Reiber) Koch. She was working in Hastings at a local restaurant before she married Earle Lucas on August 7, 1943 in Hastings. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1987. She worked for Debus Baking Co./Metz Baking Co. before her retirement. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and sewing.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earle Lucas; daughter, Virginia Anne; three sisters, Jessie Wade, Nettie Lyon, and Margaret Schenk; and one brother, Ed Koch.
