Elizabeth Kennedy

September 27, 1917 — January 3, 1948

Hastings resident, Elizabeth (Day) Kennedy, 88, of The Kensington, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, February 28, 2006; 1:30 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. William Nottage -Tacey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska at a later date. No viewing or visitation.

Mrs. Kennedy was born September 27, 1917 in Superior, Nebraska to Frederick & Katherine (Hole) Day. She graduated from Superior High School, Superior, Nebraska and attended Christian College in Columbia, Missouri and received an Associate Degree in 1937. She attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she was an Alpha Phi for two years. Her working career took her to positions in Nebraska, Texas, California and ended with Gates Rubber Company in Omaha, Nebraska. She married William C. Kennedy on January 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death on September 13, 1997. They lived in Omaha, Little Rock, Arkansas and Hastings, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, Nebraska and was a 50+ member and President of Chapter CV of P.E.O.

Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Isabelle Day.
