Betty was born April 1, 1939, in Hastings, NE, and was the beloved daughter of Cleo and Elva (Herzog) Schultz. A proud graduate of Trumbull High School in 1956, Betty went on to attend Joseph's College of Beauty. She practiced as a beautician for many years, dedicating her talents to helping others look and feel their best. Betty operated her own shop, first out of her home and later at Good Samaritan Village, where she built lasting relationships with her clients. Her beauty chair was a special place for her family, especially her grandchildren. Betty loved pampering them, making each visit memorable. These simple moments—just being together and feeling cared for—became some of her grandchildren’s most cherished memories.

On November 25, 1958, Betty married Freeman Ott. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and faith for 65 years. She was renowned for her culinary talents, preparing restaurant-worthy meals for hardworking family and friends on the farm and welcoming any guest with open arms to a full table. She was known as “Gramy” by so many people. Family was the center of her world. She found great joy in attending her children’s and grandchildren's school activities. Pure love was expressed every time she held a baby and hugged her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. Her faith was a guiding light in her life and a source of comfort to those around her with all the prayers and rosaries being offered to those she loved. A proud member of the Betty’s Club, she treasured the friendships and camaraderie she found there. Betty also found peace and happiness in crocheting, birdwatching, and tending to her flowers and vegetable garden.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Elva (Herzog) Schultz; sister, Karen Schacht; brothers, Paul Schultz and Richard “Dicky” Schultz; and daughter-in-law Sheree Ott.

She is survived by her husband, Freeman Ott; children, Jacque (Marc) Lubken, Dan (Sheree, deceased) Ott, Joan (Doug) Bartek, and Don (Abie) Ott; grandchildren, Brandan (Michelle) Lubken, Shona (Kip) Uden, Cami Kroupa, Kaylee (Mike) Haman, Anastasia (Nate) Most, Drew (Kali) Ott, Dalton Bartek, Jade Bartek, and Davis Ott; and great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Logan Lubken, Mara and Rian Uden, Kain and Dylan Kroupa, Cale and Lennon Haman, and Hayden, Kate, Henrik, Leon, and Titus Most. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Glen (Karen, deceased) Schacht; sister-in-law, Teri (Paul, deceased) Schultz; and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.
