Rural Blue Hill resident, Emma J. Reitz, 20, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026. Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m., and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence, NE, with Father Cyrus Rowan and Father Denton Morris officiating. Private Family Burial will be at Blue Valley Cemetery in Ayr, NE. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings, NE, with family present. Memorials may be given to the Emma J. Reitz Memorial Fund to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home Cremation Center will be serving the family.

 Emma was born on April 12, 2006, in Omaha, NE, to Travis Reitz & Cassie (Bruckman) Baldwin. She was a 2024 graduate of Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo, NE. Emma was a pharmacy technician and a student at Central Community College in Hastings, NE. Emma was an avid softball player, playing for both Bishop Neumann High School and Venom Softball. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Davey, NE. Emma loved her two dogs, Todo and Whiskey. 

Emma was preceded in death by her Great-Grandparents: Margaret & Victor Bruckman, Mildred & Robert Buschkoetter, Phyllis Reitz, John & Rose Janda, Robert & Loretta Reiman, and Aunts: Jackie Janda and Kim Janda.
