Eugene Fitzke

Rural Hastings resident, Eugene Ray "Gene" Fitzke, 71, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at The Ambassador in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Memorial Services will be Monday, May 8, 2017; 3:00 P.M. at Clay Center Christian Church, Clay Center with Pastor Kevin Whitmore officiating. Private family burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield. Memorials may be given to Clay Center Christian Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Gene was born July 25, 1945, to Orville & Iola (Skinner) Fitzke. He was married to Gail (Emrich) Fitzke on July 24, 1965, in Hastings, Nebraska. Gene retired from Hastings Pork currently known as Pillen Family Farm after 50 years of dedicated service.

In addition to being a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather Gene was most importantly a man of God.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gail Jean Fitzke; sister, Sharon Ann Fitzke; nephew, Russell Lee Fitzke; and brother-in-law, Fredrick Allison Emrich.
