Eva Pielstick

May 14, 1913 — July 17, 1937

Hastings resident, Eva L. Pielstick, 95, of 1235 N. Laird Avenue, died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Saturday, June 28, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Burial will be Saturday, June 28, 2008; 2:30 P.M. in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska with Brian Pielstick officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2008; 1:00 P.M. -9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Saturday, June 28, 2008, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene or Gideon Bible Society. Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pielstick was born May 14, 1913 in Cumro, Nebraska to Fred & Sarah (Swanson) Eloe. She graduated from high school and received her teaching certificate from Nebraska State Teachers College, Kearney, Nebraska in 1932. On July 17, 1937, she married Oliver Pielstick and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2001. She was co-owner/operator of the Gambles Store with her husband, in Franklin, Nebraska and a homemaker. They moved to Hastings in 1998. Her church was very important to her. She was a strong Christian woman who lived her faith. Eva was a member of First United Methodist Church and Bible Study Group in Hastings. She was a former member of United Methodist Church and Bible Study Group in Franklin. She was a past member of the Gideon Bible Society in Hastings. Her hobbies included gardening, baking and playing cards. She and her husband enjoyed golfing and traveling. Eva was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Eva L. Pielstick was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver; daughter-in-law, Jackie Pielstick and a brother, Edwin Eloe.
