Hastings resident Evelyn R. Viglicky,100, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Mary Lanning Health Care in Hastings, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be at 2 P.M., Monday, August 24, 2026, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings, Nebraska, with Reverend Damen Jensen-Heitmann officiating. Burial will be at the Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2026, from 12-2 p.m. at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Parkinson’s Research or First Presbyterian Church. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Evelyn was born March 9, 1926, in Schuyler, NE, to Anton and Bessie (Najmon) Dolezal. Evelyn was united in marriage to Richard Viglicky on April 16, 1947, and together they raised four children. She graduated from Fisher School in Schuyler in 1944. They moved to Hastings in 1957.

Evelyn worked at Schweser’s and Herberger’s, where she was a dedicated employee. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, love of family, and the many wonderful memories she created throughout her remarkable 100 years of life.

Evelyn had a special fondness for polka music, during retirement they traveled the Midwest attending polka dances which created many new friendships and joy throughout her life. Sunday was her therapy day, listening to Polka music on the radio. She also enjoyed gardening and bowling.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, brothers Lumir and Alvin Dolezal.

She is survived by sons Duane (Linda) Viglicky of Klamath Falls, OR and Gene (Lynne) of Hastings, daughters, Darline Watson (Arden) of Atlanta, NE, and Shirley Nuss (Randy) of Cedaredge, CO; grandchildren, Scott Richey and Miranda Buresh (Austin) of Hastings, Rick Nuss of Saint Michael, MN, Scott Croner of St. Joseph, MO, Brett Croner (Jeannie) and Beckk Croner all of Lincoln, Joe Watson (Kate) of Mile City, MT, Sarah Kissinger (Kevin) of Glenvil, and Kim Matthews of Washington; and 14 great grandchildren.
