Fred Joseph Hyde

Fred Joseph Hyde passed unexpectedly on May 2, 2025.

Fred was born April 3, 1952, to Eileen M. Schaefer in Hastings, NE. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1970.

He married Barbara L. Gotheridge at the First Congregational Church on June 24, 1972. From this union his sons Aaron D. Hyde and Blake J. Hyde were born.

Fred worked in insurance and real estate, and was a property owner.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his in-laws, Floyd and Norma Gotheridge; brother, Richard; and sisters, Dixie Mosel and Linda Jolly.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hyde; sons, Aaron and Jackie Hyde of Hastings, NE, and Blake and Kathryn Hyde of Fort Collins, CO; his grandchildren, Avery, Nolan, Gwennyth, Violet, and Henry Hyde; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Sandra Kendall and Ronald and Linda Sheppard, and treasured nieces and nephews.

A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Hastings American Legion Baseball.
