Fred Walker

Former Hastings resident, Fred K. 'Fritz' Walker, 89, of Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska, died Monday, February 4, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Saturday, February 9, 2002; 10:00 A.M. at First Christian Church with Rev. Judith Allen officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Fred was born August 17, 1912 in Grand Island, Nebraska to George & Kathryn (Deitz) Walker. He moved with his family to Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 3. He attended Hastings Public Schools and married Waunita Keeler on January 2, 1937 in Smith Center, Kansas. He worked at Western Land Roller for 49 years, retiring in 1977. He managed the Wintergarden Ballroom from 1950-1960. He was a member of First Christian Church, Knights of Pythias and the Eagles.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, son DeWayne, grandson Christopher Walker, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Great Grandchildren: Misti Bohlen, Drew Bohlen, Tom Bohlen, Jenny Bohlen, Tori Bohlen, Jamie Bohlen, Brandi Bohlen, Josh Bohlen, Miranda Bohlen

Memorial may be given to First Christian Church
