Galen Berney

Services will be Saturday, January 19, 2008; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Adam White officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be Thursday, January 17, 2008; 1pm-9pm, Friday, January 18, 2008; 9am-9pm at the funeral home and Saturday, January 19, 2008; 1 hr. prior to service at the church.

Mr. Berney was born September 1, 1951 at St. Paul, Nebraska to Loyal D. 'Charlie' & Irene L. (Galitz) Berney. He was baptized on October 14, 1951 and confirmed on May 30, 1965. He graduated from Wolbach High School, Wolbach, Nebraska in 1969. He attended Central Community College in Hastings for two years to pursue his welding career. On January 27, 1973, he married LaVonna D. Ackerman. He was a welder for Hastings Irrigation for 8 years, Hastings Industries (Dravo) for 2 years and Thermo King for 26 years. He enjoyed all sports and every ones company, especially children.

Mr. Berney was preceded in death by his parents, Loyal 'Charlie' & Irene Berney, grandparents, Peter & Bessie Berney and Henry & Louise Galitz.
