Geraldine was born on October 9, 1932, in Lawrence, NE, to Albert and Lenora (Biglin) Pohlmeier. Gerry grew up in Lawrence but spent most of her life on the farm in Fairfield, NE where she raised a family with the love of her life, “Johnny”.
Gerry enjoyed buying and selling antiques, tending to her beautiful flower garden, and socializing with friends and neighbors. Gerry was a dedicated wife and mother, and her greatest joys were her children and her family. She was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed visits from the grandchildren on the farm.
A devoted member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Gerry was active in the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society, where she faithfully served her parish for many years. Her deep faith was a guiding force throughout her life.
In 2005 Gerry moved to Hastings where she spent her remaining years. She enjoyed visits from friends, family, and most of all the Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, and loved sitting down for a cup of coffee, going to yoga, and taking walks.
Johnny was not only her husband, but he was her best friend, and this past December they celebrated 71 years of marriage.
Gerry was a friend to anyone she met, and made everyone feel at home. She will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, her Catholic faith, and her devotion to family.
There are no words to express how deeply Gerry will be missed or how profoundly she is loved. Her memory lives on in the family that she adored and the many lives that she touched.
Preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Jeanne Petr and Connie Drudik; brothers, Tom, Jack & Dave Pohlmeier.
