Glen May

May 7, 1918 — January 13, 1941

Former Hastings resident, Glen O. May, 92, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Lakeview Rest Home in Firth, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, December 2, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, in Hastings with Pastor Rob Thornton officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2010; one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Red Cross.

Glen was born May 7, 1918 in Pauline, Nebraska to Arthur & Melinda (Robare) May. He graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1936. In 1940, he moved to Hastings and on January 13, 1941 he entered the Army, and was honorably discharged on October 15, 1945. He married Lea Alva Ragsdale on June 22, 1946 in Smith Center, Kansas. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2004. He worked as a photographer for Channel 5 for 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Legion in Hastings, Ham Radio Club, Skylarks (Model Airplane Club in Hastings), G.I. Modelers, and was a past member of the V.F.W.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lea Alva May; one brother; and one sister.
