Gloria Katzberg

Juniata resident, Gloria I. Katzberg, 69, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be Friday, June 8, 2012; 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, Juniata, Nebraska with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established later. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 6, 2012; 5 P.M. - 9 P.M. and Thursday, June 7, 2012; 9 A.M. - 9 P.M. with family present 6 P.M. - 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Viewing will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Gloria was born February 19, 1943 to Albert & Mae (Shay) Cornelius in Hastings, Nebraska. She graduated from Juniata High School and attended Kearney State Teachers College for 2 years. Gloria I. Cornelius and Jerold E. Katzberg were united in marriage on September 6, 1964 at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, LWML, bowling league and was a Volunteer Coordinator for F.I.R.E. Gloria worked for Ruhter Auction & Realty and State Farm Insurance in Hastings. After retiring from State Farm, she volunteered numerous hours at Christ Lutheran Church & School.

Gloria I. Katzberg was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, LaVern Cornelius and Kenneth Cornelius.
