Gordon E. Fluckey

Hastings resident Gordon E. Fluckey, 95, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at Rose Blumkin Jewish Home, Omaha, NE.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Gordon was born on July 22, 1929, in Chambers, NE, he was the son of Arthur and Bessie (Hull) Fluckey. He graduated from Chambers High School in 1946 and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952. 

On December 28, 1952, Gordon married the love of his life, Dorothy McCune. They shared many years together until her passing on May 8, 2008. Gordon worked as a skilled TV repairman and proudly owned and operated his own television lab, continuing to work well into his 80s before retiring in 2011. He was a longtime member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he found strength in faith and community.

A man of many passions, Gordon was a licensed pilot who loved the freedom of the skies. He also enjoyed the open road on his motorcycle and found peace in the quiet moments spent fishing. He will be remembered for his deep curiosity, warm spirit, and the joy he found in both work and leisure.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dorothy Fluckey.
