Gwen Y. Needham

Campbell resident Gwen Needham, 76, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at her home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 15, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain Holden Barry officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Mayo Clinic. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Gwen was born August 1, 1949, to John Jr. & Edna (Larson) Paulsen in Kearney, Nebraska. She graduated from Axtell High School in 1967 and went on to graduate from Kearney State College in 1970, followed by a dietetic internship at the Houston Texas Veterans Administration Hospital for qualification to become a registered dietician. She worked for several years as a dietetic consultant, advising nursing homes and hospitals on nutrition and sanitation best practices. Gwen married Dale Needham on June 6, 1971; and to this union, five children were born.

Gwen enjoyed baking, gardening, going on walks, and above all, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends. Calm, gentle, kind, and endlessly loving, she was the heart of every gathering. She had a special gift for listening, offering comfort and understanding. She loved cheering her grandchildren on at their sports and school events, celebrating their accomplishments with pride. Her home was a haven where family came together, always greeted by the warmth of her hospitality and the comfort of her homemade baked goods. In every conversation, shared meal, and celebration, she created memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Duane; and brothers-in-law, David Franke and Wayne Pick.
