Hazel Burge

Former Ayr resident, Hazel M. Burge, 87, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society - Hastings Village Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska with Carla Burge officiating. Burial will be at Blue Valley Cemetery, rural Ayr, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 9 P.M. and Wednesday the 18th from 9 A.M. until service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Blue Valley Cemetery Association or Alzheimer's Association.

Hazel was born on December 21, 1924 at Bladen, Nebraska to William & Katherine (Brown) Gingrich. She attended school at Fairview District #30 and graduated from Roseland High School. She married Orville Burge on January 3, 1945 and he preceded her in death August 22, 2009. Hazel was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Hazel M. Burge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orville Burge, daughter and son-in-law, Kay & Merle Sherman, 3 brothers, Virgil Gingrich, Marvin Gingrich and Wilbur Gingrich.
