Helen Kallos, 88, of 1233 Sheridan Drive, Hastings, Nebraska died Friday, February 1, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Trisagion Service will be Monday, February 4, 2008; 6 P.M. - 7 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 5, 2008; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel with Father Christopher Morris, Father Philip Vreeland and Chanter John Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2008; 5-9 P.M. and Tuesday, February 5, 2008; 8 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Give Kids The World, 210 South Bass Road, Kissimmee, Florida 34746.

Helen Kallos, daughter of Greek immigrants from Kalamate, Greece was born November 27, 1919 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Henry & Ethel (Kapantais) Treantos. She attended school in Minatare, Nebraska. She moved to Hastings in 1945 coming from Grand Island, Nebraska. On November 9, 1942 she married Christ J. Kallos and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1980. She and her husband owned and operated the Blackstone Café in downtown Hastings and during WWII they operated a cafeteria at the NAD. She was also a homemaker and was in the Real Estate Business. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in Kearney, Nebraska and was a member of the Philoptiros Society.

Helen Kallos was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Christ J. Kallos, two brothers and son-in-law, Nick Theoharis.
