Janet Marie Nitchie

Hastings resident Janet Marie “Jan” Nitchie, 76, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Mary Lanning Health Care.

Jan’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services at this time. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.

Jan was born July 18, 1949, to Richard and Helen (Wilson) Linder. Jan married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” on August 9, 1975; to this union, a daughter Michelle was born. She was an avid fan of the Game Show Network and enjoyed challenging her mind with computer games and card games—especially a good game of pitch. Some of her happiest moments were spent playing Sorry with her grandchildren, filling the room with laughter and friendly competition. Janet also treasured time camping with her husband, creating memories together in the outdoors that will be fondly remembered.

Janet will be remembered for her playful spirit, her love of games, and the special bond she shared with her family. She leaves behind many who will miss her deeply and remember her often.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Alan Nitchie; brother, Dave Linder.
