Janet M. Powell

Hastings resident Janet M. Powell, 74, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Blue Valley Lutheran Home, Hebron, NE. 

Celebration of Life will be 1-3 p.m. Friday, January 10, at the funeral home. There will be no burial held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. 

Janet was born January 20, 1950, in Hastings, NE to Roy and Rose (Allen) Kirby. She graduated from Hastings High School. Janet cleaned houses for many years. She had a love for dogs and donated generously to Start Over Rover. 

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; son, Cory; brothers, Tim Kirby and Tom Kirby.
