Jean Koch

Hastings resident Jean Koch, 97, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE with family by her side.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 14, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Rev. Greg Allen-Pickett officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation is 1-7 p.m. Friday with family present 5-7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church or Mary Lanning Hospice.

Jean was born on July 27, 1922, on a farm near Red Cloud, NE to James M. and Alda (Burroughs) Arnold. She graduated from Hastings High School with the Class of 1940. On May 1, 1946, she married the love of her life, Donald D. Koch, a loving husband, father, and grandfather who preceded her in death on April 27, 2007.

Jean was employed in the office at the Dutton-Lainson factory from 1941-1948 and later worked with her husband, Don in his business, Don’s TV Sales & Service until their retirement in 1993.

Jean was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hastings and a past member of Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald D Koch; and two brothers, Bill Arnold and Byron Arnold.
