Jerome Beyke

February 17, 1932 — July 12, 1952

Hastings resident, Jerome 'Joe' Beyke, 76, of 1850 So. Baltimore, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Rosary will be Sunday, March 30, 2008; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 31, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, March 29, 2008; 9AM-9PM, Sunday, March 30, 2008; 1PM-9PM at the funeral home & Monday, March 31, 2008, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church or Knights of Columbus for television masses.

Mr. Beyke was born February 17, 1932 in Lawrence, Nebraska to Valentine & Ida (Kitten) Beyke. He was raised on a farm 3 miles east of Pauline, Nebraska and attended District 26 thru the 8th grade. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1950. On July 12, 1952, he married Alice Karash at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hastings, Nebraska. He served in the United States Air Force from April 21, 1952 to April 23,1956 during the Korean War. Joe was the owner of Joe's Seat Covers and Manufacturing, an auto upholstery business. Later he owned Beyke Rentals. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Mr. Beyke was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Beyke.
