Hastings resident Jerry J. Berck, 87, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at Mary Lanning Healthcare.

Services will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 17, 2026, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Kurt Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m., with the family present 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 16th, 2026, and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Tunnels to Towers “T2T”. Jerry was born December 26, 1938, in Hastings, NE, to Orville and Hazel (Wilson) Peyton. She attended Hastings High School and married James W. Berck on October 3, 1957.

Jerry had a passion for baking and cake decorating, often delighting family and friends with her beautifully crafted and delicious creations. She also enjoyed sewing and painting, expressing her artistic spirit in many forms throughout her life.She especially loved entertaining and hosting gatherings, with her 4th of July celebrations becoming cherished traditions for those who knew her. Her home was always a welcoming place filled with laughter, good food, and lasting memories. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.Jerry will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dick Peyton, and sister, Mary Lou Koch.
