Juniata resident John Alan Hohlen, 73, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hastings, NE. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church - Hastings. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. John was born August 15, 1952, in Hastings, NE, to Elmer and Colleen (Kort) Hohlen. He graduated from Trumbull High School in 1970. He went on to Kearney State College, where he earned a football scholarship, graduating in 1974. In 1981, John married the love of his life, Lynn, beginning a partnership filled with commitment, laughter, and family. Together they raised four children, who were the pride and joy of his life. John thoroughly enjoyed his career with Adams County Bank and the lifelong relationships it fostered. He loved all things related to farming and spending time outdoors with his family in God’s creation.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
