John Patterson

March 24, 1943 — January 2, 1963

Hastings resident, John Patterson, 64, of 2060 East 12th Street, died Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, August 22, 2007; 2:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl H. Rehwaldt officiating. Private family interment at a later date. Visitation with family present will be Tuesday, August 21, 2007 7PM-9PM. During this time, there will be a video tribute to John. Memorials may be given to John Patterson Memorial Fund.

John was born March 24, 1943 in Hastings, Nebraska to Davis & Daisy J. (Thomas) Patterson. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1961 and from Milford Trade School, Milford, Nebraska in 1964. John married Roberta E. Kennington on January 2, 1963 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings. He worked for Patterson Brothers Well Drilling from 1964 until 1972. John started Patterson Well Drilling in Hildreth, Nebraska in 1973. In 1978, he moved Patterson Well Drilling to Hastings and operated it until 1998, when he retired. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Nebraska Well Drillers Association, and the Elks. John enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. John also enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Texas.

Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his father, Davis, a son, Joey and a favorite pet, Buffy.
