Jon Smith

Hastings resident, Jon Smith, 40, of 122 East 14th Street, died Monday, April 21, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Memorial services will be Friday, April 25, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Burial will be at a later date. No viewing or visitation. Book signing will be Thursday, April 24, 2008; 9AM-5PM. A memorial will be established.

Mr. Smith was born December 14, 1967 in Hastings, Nebraska to Ramon G. & Jacklyn (Brunke) Smith. He graduated from Adams Central High School in 1986 and married Shona Jones on January 30, 1988 at First United Methodist Church in Hastings. He was a semi truck driver for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a life long Hastings resident and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father and a son, Colby.
